THERESA CAMMERATA

President

Theresa Cammerata is a stay-at-home mom to a 4th grader. She has been a volunteer for various organizations over the years. Her most extensive work was being president of Therapy Dogs International Pittsburgh chapter for 3 years. She’s helped coordinate local events not only with TDI, but was a volunteer event coordinator in her previous work-life for 5 years. Theresa hopes, with the help of the parents and Mt. Washington community, to build a strong relationship within the school. You can always find her outside at pick-up with her Border Collie, Stella. Look for the pink tail!

MS. GADD

Treasurer and F.A.C.E coordinator

Ms. Gadd has been at Whittier for 6 years and is currently our Interventionist. In fact, she has spent all of her teaching career at schools in the south section of the city. As FACE (Family and Community Engagement) Coordinator, she sends weekly email blasts to families, organizes the monthly activities calendar, and manages the Whittier Facebook group. She’s an active member of the PSCC and PTO. She is also the proud sponsor of our Student Envoys.

MRS. DAVIS

Secretary

Mrs. Davis has been a teacher at Pittsburgh Whittier for 17 years. In previous years she served as the F.A.C.E coordinator, planning activities for parent engagement, as well as a member of the PTO and PSCC. Mrs. Davis believes in building a strong partnership between the school and the community. When not at school she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

MR. VOLCHKO

Yearbook Advisor

Mr. Volchko has been a teacher at Pittsburgh Whittier for 15 years. Mr. Volchko teaches art to all of our students, as well as science for all of the 2nd-5th graders. He also is the technology liaison for Whittier which means Mr. Volchko helps to troubleshoot computer and iPad issues that students and teachers experience. Mr. Volchko loves to spend time with his wife and daughter and their two cats when he’s not at school.

MRS. BERTONASCHI

Box Tops Coordinator

Mrs. Bertonaschi has been with PPS for 5.5 with 4.5 of those being at Whittier. She is currently our Autistic Support classroom teacher! When not at school, she is often outside with her two kids. She enjoys reading and baking when her children allow it. Mrs. B is excited to be the Box Top coordinator as she did it in previous years at Whittier. She is looking forward to back to school and an exciting year with the PTO!
